We are delighted to have officially launched works at the site of a former rugby social club in Coventry to deliver another HBV Group supported living development.
We are pleased to be collaborating with award-winning care provider Radis Community Care, registered provider Inclusion Housing as well as Stubbs Construction and a brilliant design and support team.
This new supported living development will be ready next summer and will change the lives of at least 19 families in the local area who need a little extra support.
Thank you to everyone who is helping us to deliver this new project, especially the adult social care team at Coventry City Council.
New Supported Living Development in Coventry
Work has officially started at the site of a former rugby social club in Coventry to bring new homes for local people living with disabilities.
Nineteen new apartments are being built at the site of the former Broad Street RUFC social club on Henley Road which will be specially designed for people with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders and physical disabilities.
The supported living accommodation will be bolstered by assistive technology to enable people to live more independently.
Collaboration
The £4m scheme is being delivered by specialist supported living developer HBV Group in partnership with award-winning care provider Radis Community Care, registered provider Inclusion Housing and Coventry City Council.
The development is expected to be completed by the middle of next year with people moving in shortly after.
We were delighted to welcome Councillor Kevin Maton, Lord Mayor of the City of Coventry to officially start work at the site with a ceremonial shovel.
The scheme is the second development in Coventry delivered by HBV Group, which has now delivered 58 similar schemes across the country and says it is already searching for another site in the city.
The new development also opens up a number of job opportunities in the local area for support workers and care workers.
Stubbs Construction, a family owned business are the appointed contractor at the site and KDP are the architects.
“It might be a building site now, but soon, this spot will be a great asset for the city of Coventry, helping to support some of our residents who need a little extra help. Housing such as this is so important. In Coventry, we believe very strongly in an all-inclusive city where all people are helped to live involved lives in active neighbourhoods. These homes will do just that and I am sure they will make a massive difference to the lives of those who live here. The site brought a lot of joy to many as the old home of the Broad Street RUFC social club and it’s good to see it continue to serve the local area and the city - putting smiles on people’s faces.

“We are delighted to officially start work at this site in the heart of the community. We need to ensure that the most vulnerable in our society are well cared for and looked after in suitable accommodation. This development will put a lot of smiles on a lot of people’s faces when it is completed next year. We have had tremendous support from the planning team at Coventry City Council, particularly given the challenges presented by the pandemic, as well as the commissioning team responsible for delivering adult social care. We are delighted that everyone recognises the need for new-build specialist supported living accommodation for some of the local community’s most vulnerable people and we’re already actively looking for another site in Coventry to meet demand.”

“We are looking forward to supporting a new group of clients to live independently here at this development in Coventry. The scheme will offer a safe and comfortable base for our clients, who with our support, will be able to live the lives they choose as part of their local community.”
